The Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, the Prague Conservatory and the Jan Deyl Conservatory together form the backbone of Prague’s secondary music schools. In the field of higher vocational education, the first of these offers two attractive and extremely successful educational programmes, namely Music – Jazz, and Lyrics and Screenwriting. The school’s exclusivity, not only in the Czech Republic but also in Europe, stems from its bold openness to new artistic directions. Under the guidance of outstanding artistic personalities, the Conservatory’s students are shown the vast world of jazz, pop, rock, musical music and other important musical genres of the 20th and 21st centuries with a solid basis in the traditional foundations. The best of its students will perform solo accompanied by musicians of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and thus get a unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a concert with a professional ensemble. The programme will also include selected compositions by students from the Composition department. Robert Kružík, chief conductor of the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra in Zlín and permanent guest conductor of the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra, will be in charge of staging the entire evening.
