Pre-Christmas Time with the PRSO

26. listopad 2025

Dear PRSO audience, Christmas is approaching, and with it, our two December concerts. Already on Thursday, December 11, Mozart’s motet Exsultate, jubilate will be performed in the Bethlehem Chapel under the baton of conductor Jiří Habart, featuring soprano Veronika Rovná. The program will also include Franz Xaver Süssmayr’s Sinfonia Turchesca and the C minor Symphony by Czech composer Pavel Vranický.

A little less than two weeks later, on December 22, you can end the Advent season with Dvořák’s 6th Symphony conducted by our chief conductor Petr Popelka. In addition, the program at the Rudolfinum will feature Maurice Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major performed by pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard, and the cantata Our Garden by Arvo Pärt, performed by the Czech Radio Children’s Choir.

If you haven’t found a gift for Christmas, you can purchase a Christmas subscription until December 23 and give the gift of music to your loved ones. This year, we have prepared three packages – Power of the Orchestra, Voices and Symphonies, and The Best of the Municipal House.

Give the gift of music.

You can also shorten the wait for Santa with the podcast Taktovka. A new episode from the Municipal House Café will be available from November 29 on mujRozhlas and other platforms. Jana Trojanová’s guests were PRSO principal guest conductor Robert Jindra, pianist Marek Kozák, and composer Jiří Gemrot, who together offered a behind-the-scenes look at the Saint-Saëns Organ concert.
