Royal Impression
Studio 1, 26 February 2024 at 7.30 pm.
Mario Mesany flute (PRSO) | Lydia Härtelová harp (PRSO)
The beautiful sound created by combining the two royal instruments, the harp and the flute, has been noticed by composers for centuries. One could certainly mention the beautiful Mozart’s concerto or the plethora of compositions written for these instruments during the romantic and impressionist periods.
This evening will feature a beautiful atmosphere offered by the addition of a string trio to these instruments. This will create a chamber ensemble, which first performed in Paris in 1922 in this form under the name Quintette instrumental de Paris. It was so popular at the time that such greats as Arthur Honegger, Jacques Ibert, Marcel Tournier, Henri Tomasi, André Jolivet and others composed for it.
