As the name of the concert reveals, the focus of the April programming is concert pieces for trumpet and clarinet. The evening opens with a prelude to Handel's opera Acis and Galatea, adapted for a classical orchestra by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Jiří Houdek, a solo trumpet player of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, will perform twice: first, his interpretation of a suite from Händel's popular Water Music arranged for trumpet and orchestra, and second, Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in B-flat major. The evening will culminate in one of Mozart's most beautiful works, the Concerto in A major for clarinet and orchestra. It will be performed by a young artist Anna Paulová, laureate of the Prague Spring International Music Competition.
