This special concert by Czech Radio, organised in close cooperation with Radio and Television of Slovakia, commemorates 100 years since the founding of an independent Czechoslovakia. The Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, led by one of the most respected Czech musicians of recent decades, horn player and conductor Radek Baborák, present the well-known Czech classics Janáček's Sinfonietta and Dvořák's New World.
The Rudolfinum's Dvořák Hall will also hear a work less frequently played in the Czech Republic by perhaps the most important Slovak composer of the last century Eugen Suchoň. His Symfonietta Rustica from the mid-50s offers up the lively rhythms and lyrical melodies of Slovak folk music.

The concert takes place under the auspices of the President of the Czech Republic.
