Opening Concert in a Charitable Spirit
The traditional season-opening concert by the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra (SOČR) at the Rudolfinum will have a special mission this year.
In line with Czech Radio's charity efforts, SOČR will participate in the "Help with Us" fundraising campaign organized by the Prague Radio Endowment Fund. By purchasing a ticket for the Opening Concert, subtitled Concert for Northern Moravia, attendees can support nursing homes affected by the recent floods. Proceeds from ticket sales will also be donated from the previous concert at the Bethlehem Chapel (September 19) and from the upcoming Tristan and Isolde concert on October 7 at the Rudolfinum.
On Monday, September 30, concertgoers will have the opportunity to hear renowned German violinist Isabelle Faust. Under the baton of chief conductor Petr Popelka, SOČR will perform Dvořák’s Violin Concerto. The program will also feature Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 and the premiere of Continuo, a composition by Jan Klusák.
