The March concert of the main guest conductor Robert Jindra will be dedicated to France. It will open with a tribute to the architect Gustav Eiffel in waltz rhythm, for which one of the most famous living composers, Estonian Arvo Pärt, was inspired by the architectural plans of the iconic Eiffel Tower. French pianist Jean Efflam Bavouzet will then take the piano and perform Ravel's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra with a charming waltz-like middle movement. The second half of the programme will feature a single symphony by the French Romantic composer Ernest Chausson, a close friend of Claude Debussy, best known as a songwriter whose fate was prematurely ended by a tragic fall from a bicycle.
