The Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra Enters Its 100th Season with a New Visual Identity

18. březen 2026

The Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, known by the abbreviation PRSO, will commemorate 100 years since its founding in 2026. To mark this milestone, it is introducing a new visual identity that will be used across all its communications.

In collaboration with the agency Proximity Prague, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra presents a new visual identity created for its anniversary 100th season.

The aim was to achieve clear color differentiation between concert series, along with simplicity and directness. The core element consists of five stripes—representing the five lines of a musical staff—into which the Czech Radio logo can be integrated. Together, the lines form a wave, adding dynamism to the new style.

„In September, we will celebrate 100 years since our founding, and the entire upcoming concert season will be full of renowned conductors and outstanding musical guests. We are also emphasizing this anniversary with a new visual identity, which I personally find very exciting. I particularly enjoy the connection between the Czech Radio logo and the musical staff,” says Jakub Čížek, Director of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra.

As part of the spring campaign for the new season, the orchestra will make use not only of standard CLV advertising spaces, but also, for example, a fully wrapped tram that will be visible on Prague routes until the end of the year.

„The Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra is a cultural phenomenon—one of the most important orchestras we have. A century-long tradition, exceptional musicianship, and the dissemination of musical heritage are what give SOČR its strong sonic identity. Our goal was to create an equally distinctive visual identity. We aimed to push the benchmark of how orchestras present themselves visually, inspired by bold and communicatively strong orchestras from around the world. The idea of a ‘brand with five stripes,’ referencing the musical score, is our personal expression of support and pride. We wish the orchestra and its identity to stay in perfect harmony,” adds Martin Mareš, Creative Director at Proximity.
