Petr Zdvihal

I come from Hrobice near Pardubice. I graduated from the Pardubice Conservatory and the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

Before joining the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, I was a member of the Talich Chamber Orchestra and the Suk Chamber Orchestra, and served as the first violinist of the Herold Quartet.

I have been with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra for fifteen years, serving as both concertmaster and violinist.

What instrument do I play?

My instrument is approximately 250 years old and comes from the Italian workshop of Andrea Danelutti. It is a family heirloom, and I have been playing it for twenty-five years.

What was my childhood dream?

I wanted to become a famous professional ice hockey or football player.

What do I enjoy?

I am a devoted fan of the Dynamo Pardubice ice hockey club and Slavia Prague football club (I am not a fan of Sparta!). I enjoy cooking, cycling, going for walks with my dog, and I am a lover of good beer.
