Touring West Europe
The Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra will be touring Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium from 16 to 22 March. They will perform five concerts featuring works by Antonín Dvořák, Fryderyk Chopin, Bedřich Smetana and Igor Stravinsky. The orchestra will be conducted by Daniel Raiskin, and the featured soloists will be pianist Severin von Eckardstein and cellist Christian Poltéra.

Daniel Raiskin, conductor
Since 2005 Chief Conductor of Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie, Daniel Raiskin ranks among the most versatile musicians of his generation and has established himself as one of the leading European violists before embarking on a career as conductor.
Born 1970 in St. Petersburg and trained in the best Russian-European musical tradition he studied viola in St. Petersburg, Amsterdam and in Freiburg. At the same time Mr. Raiskin devoted himself to studies of orchestral conducting in St. Petersburg and at various master classes with Neeme Järvi, Mariss Jansons, Milan Horvat and Jorma Panula among others. His international career brought him to such major venues as Musikverein Vienna, Berlin Philharmonie, Berlin Konzerthaus, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Tonhalle Zürich, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Victoria Hall Geneva, Sala Verdi del Conservatorio Milano, Mozarteum Salzburg as well as Lincoln Center, New York.
Daniel Raiskin has frequently performed with a great number of leading orchestras, including: Wiener Symphoniker, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg, Berlin Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Norwegian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Nacional do Porto, London Chamber Orchestra, Norddeutsche Philharmonie, Israel Sinfonietta, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. He has collaborated with such renowned soloists as Natalia Gutman, Shlomo Mintz, Julian Rachlin, Dmitri Sitkovetsky, Benjamin Schmid and many others.
In 2002 Daniel Raiskin was appointed Principle Guest Conductor of the Witold Lutosławski Philharmonic of Wrocław, which he has led on a number of highly acclaimed tours of Poland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and The Netherlands.
A strong advocate of contemporary music, Daniel Raiskin has performed a great number of works by today´s composers. He regularly devotes himself also to the opera repertoire.
