The New Year's Concert of Russian Music in Smetana Hall

On Saturday, January 2, 2010, at 8 pm, the 11th annual festival The Czech Strokes of Music will host Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra playing Russian Musical jewels.
Pianist Jan Simon will perform as a soloist in Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto in b flat minor; the concert in the Municipal House Smetana Hall will open with overture to the opera Ruslan & Lyudmila by Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka and will culminate with Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky. The Prague Radio Symphony will play under its chief conductor Vladimír Válek.
