The Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra in Budapest and Friedrichshafen
On Sunday 29 March the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra will perform before visitors to the Spring Festival in Budapest. In the Palace of Arts' Béla Bartók National Concert Hall, the orchestra, headed by its Chief Conductor Vladimír Válek, will present Smetana's Vltava, Dvořák's Violin Concert in A minor with soloist Dmitri Berlinski, and Symphony No. 1 by Bohuslav Martinů.
The musicians will then travel to Germany where they will perform in Friedrichshafen (Graf-Zeppelin-Haus) on Thursday 2 April in a programme featuring the overture to Smetana's opera The Bartered Bride, Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 1 in A minor, Op. 99, by Dmitri Shostakovich with soloist Sophia Jaffé, and Dvořák's New World Symphony. The concert will again be conducted by Vladimír Válek.
