Spanish Tour
At the end of January (22. - 30. 1. 2009) the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra will travel on a tour of Spanish cities. Under their Chief Conductor Vladimír Válek they will present works by B. Smetana, A. Dvořák, F. Schubert, F. Chopin and C. Saint-Saëns. Pianist Jan Simon will appear as soloist.
Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra will perform four concerts in all. The first will be held in the Asturian city of Avilés (Auditorio de la Casa Municipal de Cultura), the next concert in Zaragoza, the capital of Aragon (Auditorio de Zaragoza), then in the region of Murcia in its principal city of the same name (Asociación Pro Música de Murcia), and their final destination will be the capital of Navarre, Pamplona (Palacio de Congresos y Auditorio de Navarra).

Antonín Dvořák: Symphony No. 5 in F major, Op. 76
Camille Saint-Saëns: Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 22
Franz Schubert: Symphony No. 8 in B minor "Unfinished"
Bedřich Smetana: Šárka from the cycle Má vlast (My Country)
