Vladimir Sverdlov-Ashkenazy comes from a family with a long tradition of extraordinary artists. His grandfather, the composer and pianist David Ashkenazy, encouraged him to write his first compositions, while his uncle, the famous pianist and conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy, inspired the intensive work that earned him the grand prix at a national competition of folk schools of art at the age of 14.
Thirty-eight this year, the Moscow native, graduate of Russian and German schools, winner of the Monte Carlo Piano Masters, composer and poet, will perform Ravel’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in G major accompanied by the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra.
