Janáček project with Tomáš Netopil continues
The Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra (PRSO) is preparing to record Janáček’s The Eternal Gospel at the end of March (27th and 28th). The ensemble will be joined at the Rudolfinum’s Dvořák Hall by members of the Prague Philharmonic Choir, soprano Alžběta Poláčková, tenor Pavel Černoch and conductor Tomáš Netopil.
The forthcoming Supraphon album will also include The Glagolitic Mass recorded by the PRSO conducted by Netopil and featuring soloists Andrea Danková, Jana Sýkorová, Tomáš Juhás and Jozef Benci at the turn of August and September 2013. Organist Aleš Bárta and the Prague Philharmonic Choir led by Lukáš Vasilek also took part.
Let us remind you that an earlier Supraphon album of the PRSO and Tomáš Netopil performing Janáček’s symphonic works (specifically Sinfonietta, Taras Bulba, The Fiddler’s Child and The Ballad of Blaník) won excellent reviews from British critics. It was released in April 2013.
