Recording for Supraphon with T. Netopil

19. srpen 2013

From Saturday 31 August until Tuesday 3 September, the radio symphony orchestra players will be recording another Janáček title for Supraphon along with their conductor Tomáš Netopil. In spring of this year their CD with the same composer's work (specifically Sinfonietta, Taras Bulba, The Fiddler's Child, and The Ballad of Blaník) came out, earning rave reviews from British critics. This time the musicians have concentrated on a crowning choral work – The Glagolitic Mass.

The solo parts are performed by Andrea Danková – soprano (SK), Jana Sýkorová – alto (CZ), Tomáš Juhás – tenor (SK) and Jozef Benci – bass (SK). They are accompanied by organist Aleš Bárta and the Prague Philharmonic Choir led by Lukáš Vasilek. The version to be recorded is the first one – "September 1927" (editor: Dr. Jiří Zahrádka).

On the planned album The Glagolitic Mass will be joined by The Eternal Gospel, which will be recorded in March of next year.
