To Bratislava with honouree Ondrej Lenárd!
One concert in the 48th edition of the most important and prestigious international music festival in Slovakia will commemorate the 70th birthday of Ondrej Lenárd, and the guest of honour has invited “his” Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra to cooperate.
On Wednesday 10 October it will perform the famous Beethoven Overture to Goethe’s tragedy Egmont, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor with soloist Jan Simon and, after the interval, Richard Strauss’ majestic Alpine Symphony. The evening will be held at the Concert Hall of the Slovak Philharmonic (the Reduta) and will begin at 19:30.
This year’s Bratislava Music Festival is taking place between 28.9 and 14.10. Alongside the Slovak Philharmonic, the organiser, it will feature the Czech Philharmonic with Jiří Bělohlávek, the violinist Sarah Chang, the Budapest Festival Orchestra with Iván Fischer and the renowned Academy of St. Martin in the Fields ensemble from Great Britain among others.
