Český Krumlov’s birthday gift to Václav Hudeček
The violinist Václav Hudeček, a unique artist, celebrated his 60th birthday this year and to mark this milestone in his life the International Music Festival Český Krumlov festival prepared a concert for him. Accompanied by the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and its chief conductor Ondrej Lenárd, alongside the master himself representatives of the younger generation of musicians to whom Václav Hudeček has selflessly devoted his friendship, advice and valuable experience (particularly at his annual Academy in Luhačovice) also performed.
Violinists Jan Mráček and Petr Matěják, cellists Alžběta Vlčková-Michalová and Petr Nouzovský, and finally the successor of a legendary Russian musical dynasty, violinist Valery Oistrakh, with whom the Czech musician is closely connected, performed at the Castle Riding School on 21 July.
Czech Radio 3 – Vltava will broadcast a recording of that concert on Tuesday 25 September at 20:00. It is certainly an attractive program:
