PRSO to close 37th Janáček May
On Friday 8 June, guests at Ostrava’s Dům kultury (House of Culture) can look forward to an evening of Slavic music performed by the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra (PRSO), violinist Sophie Jaffé and conductor Zdeňek Mácal, who is also president and artistic guarantor of the Janáček May festival.

Bedřich Smetana: Vltava, a symphonic poem from the cycle My Country
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Major, op. 35
Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition
The 37th annual Janáček May International Music Festival will also feature artists of the calibre of opera singer Ferruccio Furlanetto, pianist Rudolf Buchbinder, conductor Alan Buribaev, and others. However, the likes of Jiří Bárta, Karel Košárek, Jakub Hrůša and Radek Baborák will not be overshadowed by such names.
