Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra on ČT2 – Saturday, 8 January 2011

Starting 8 p.m. on 8 January 2011, Czech public television station ČT2 will be broadcasting a recording of the Smetana Gala concert, which took place on 7 December 2010 at the Congress Hall of the Prague Congress Centre. Soprano Kateřina Kněžíková, tenor Tomáš Černý, the Prague Chamber Choir, headed by choirmaster Jaroslav Brych, and the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, under chief conductor Valdimír Válek, were brought together to perform famous and popular arias, choruses, overtures, polkas, and other compositions by the composer venerated as the father of Czech national music.
