Japanese tour 2015
On 17 June the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra will set off on its 11th Japanese tour; coincidentally it will include 11 performances, in such cities as Osaka (Symphony Hall), Sapporo (Concert Hall Kitara),Tokyo (Suntory Hall), Nagoya (Aichi Arts Center Concert Hall) and Fukuoka (Acros Fukuoka Symphony Hall). The programme will include the now traditional Smetana’s My Country (resp. a selection from the cycle), Dvořák’s Eighth and Ninth (New World) Symphonies and Beethoven’s Seventh. Chopin’s First Piano Concerto will also be performed, as will Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto, with soloists from Japan (Shinya Kiyozuka, Fujiko Hemming) and the US (Sean Kennard). Orchestra chief Ondrej Lenárd will conduct. The PRSO will travel home on 6 July.
