You too will be enraptured by the boys from the Clarinet Factory!
Clarinet Factory is a name with a ring to it on our music scene. It was more than twenty years ago that these former classmates from the Pardubice Conservatory and Prague's AMU (and above all close friends) set out on their journey of experimentation, improvisation and soon their own works.
They have strayed into all possible corners of the musical world, tasting classical, jazz, world music, electronica and multi-genre projects.
They have enjoyed musical collaborations with singers Jana Koubková, Lenka Dusilová, Iva Bittová, with percussionist Alan Vitouš and with artist and performer Petr Nikl.
They have repeatedly worked with the phenomenal Bobby McFerrin. Their music has played in films, at theatre and ballet performances and at art exhibitions.
What has this likeable quartet of now "big boys" come up with for the subscriber concert of the Radio Symphony Orchestra, playing this time under the baton of Tomáš Brauner?
"We approached building the programme with regard for the space of the Municipal House and with knowledge of the context of the whole New Horizons series," the players themselves say regarding the concert to be held 14 March. "From among many favourite authors we focused on 'minimalists' and the part of our work that is closest to them. Being able to work on the visualisations with Jindřich Trapl was also very important for us."
The clarinettists also approached composer Marko Ivanović to help with the orchestration and a new perspective on their own work.
The simplicity and conciseness of the message, the maintaining of the atmosphere, the maximum effort... Thus could we describe the principles this quartet honours when creating and interpreting music. Enter with us a place where music has no borders! The Clarinet Factory is opening its gates…
