Metropolitan opera star sings Mahler
One of the pinnacles of the 90th season surely was the appearance of baritone Markus Werba.
Austrian singer performs at such opera houses as Milan’s La Scala, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, London’s Covent Garden and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. With the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra Werba will perform Mahler’s tragic Kindertotenlieder (Songs of the Death of Children), based on the poems of Friedrich Rückert:
The concert, helmed by principal conductor Ondrej Lenárd, concluded with Ein Heldenleben (A Hero’s Life), the monumental symphonic poem by Richard Strauss.
