Scheherazade, a symphonic suite by classic Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. The work was written in 1888 and is based on an incredibly popular theme, the collection of Arab folk tales, fables, anecdotes and other stories known as the One Thousand and One Nights. The second source of inspiration was Korsakov's voyages and hours spent at sea. You can look forward to a composition that is uncommonly effective, graceful and sought-after among other things for its onomatopoeia, varied instrumentation and the richness of its melodic lines.
